The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons has a strong history of involvement in trauma prevention and management. The Smith & Nephew EMST Instructor Scholarship will be awarded to a Senior Instructor or Director in the EMST program, to travel overseas to attend an Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) course and/or further their trauma experience by visiting an international trauma centre. Through this focus on clinical experience, the Senior Instructor or Director will be able to further develop their knowledge and skills in trauma care and gain information relevant to the RACS EMST program. The scholarship is awarded in recognition of the significant pro bono work that the the EMST faculty contributes to the training programs of the RACS each year.
