Advocacy for Digital Diagnostic Imaging Recommendations (DDIR)

27 July 2010

The College has a position paper – Digital Diagnostic Imaging Guidelines (PDF 301Kb) –, which states that images used for treatment decisions and new equipment should be RACS compliant.

The Digital Diagnostic Imaging Recommendations (DDIR) now constitute a benchmark for the quality of information critical for optimal patient care and should form the basis for any standards adopted by National E-Health Transition Authority (NEHTA) and subsequently the Department of Health and Aging (DoHA).

Disclaimer and permission to distribute and use – View the disclaimer and permission to reproduce (PDF 41Kb) the recommendations.

Contact – Any suggestions, advice or corrections are invited, as the technology is constantly evolving, and remaining current with the latest advances and enhancements is crucial. Address comments to digital.imaging@surgeons.org.
