Surgical Education and Training (SET) Program

The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons provides training and education in the nine surgical specialties in which it admits surgeons to Fellowship.  The Surgical Education and Training (SET) program is designed to improve the quality and efficiency of surgical education and training through early selection into speciality training and streamlining of the training experience.  Trainees apply directly into their specialty of choice.

The current Basic Surgical Training program will continue and be integrated during the transitional period (2008-2010).

RACSTA is an active and vibrant group representing the interests of Trainees at all levels within the College.  Contact your local representative to provide feedback on any issues or to become more involved in the governance and progress of the College.

Trainee requests can be made online using a customised form.

Information for selection 2009

Information about the 2009 SET selection processes has been published. Registration for the first stage of selection into all of the surgical specialties is now open, for information about selection requirements Click here.
