Fellowship ExaminationSee also Court of Examiners The Fellowship Examination Venue - Australia and New ZealandThe Fellowship Examination comprises of seven separate segments including both Written and Clinical/Viva components. The Examination consists of two Written Papers and five Clinical/Viva segments (please see policy on the Conduct of Fellowship Examination ) for more detailed information on the Examination format. Should any significant changes or amendments to the Examination format occur, all eligible candidates will be written to and notified of these no less than six months prior to the Examination. Written ExaminationThe Fellowship Written Examination is held twice per calendar year (April-May) and (September/October). The Examination is conducted simultaneously across Australia and New Zealand and is held approximately 3-4 weeks prior to the Clinical/Viva Examinations (please see Fellowship Examination dates) for the most up to date information. The Written Examination is offered throughout all major Australian and New Zealand Centres. Please see the below list for a full list of venues:
Clinical/Viva ExaminationThe Clinical/Viva Examination is held twice per calendar year (May-June) and September-October). The Examination in the first half of the year (May-June) is held in both Australia and New Zealand. The Examination in Australia applied to all specialties. The Examination in New Zealand applies only to the specialties of General Surgery and Orthopaedic Surgery. The Australian Examination in May-June alternates between Melbourne and Sydney and the New Zealand Examination alternates between Auckland and Wellington (General Surgery and Orthopaedic Surgery only). The Examination in the second half of the year (September-October) is held in either Australia or New Zealand and rotates through Adelaide, Brisbane and Christchurch.
