Mission statement

“To promote the highest standard of initial care for injured patients through a multidisciplinary trauma education programme”

 

Committee objectives
  • To oversee the conduct of the Early Management of Severe Trauma (EMST) Course program throughout Australasia according to the policy and standards of the ATLS® Subcommittee of the ACS Committee on Trauma
  • To oversee the continued development of the EMST Course programme throughout Australasia as required.
  • To oversee the review of curriculum and materials necessary to the EMST Course program.
  • To foster the promulgation of EMST in the Asia-Pacific region.
  • To maintain a close professional and collaborative relationship with the ATLS® Subcommittee of the ACS Committee on trauma and the broader ATLS® international community.
  • To maintain the Memorandum of Understanding with the ATLS® Subcommittee of the ACS COT
