The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons is accredited by the Australian Medical Council for delivery of specialist medical education and training and professional development programs. The College complies with the standards that the AMC requires of providers of specialist medical education and training. These standards can be viewed on the AMC website www.amc.org.au.

The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons submission to the Australian Medical Council for accreditation of the College Education and Training and Professional Development Programs 2007 is available The AMC Accreditation Report is available here.

A review of the College's programs took place during 2007. Following this review, the College's training and continuing professional development programs are accredited by the AMC until December 2011 subject to a satisfactory report to the Specialist Education Accreditation committee responding to 5 particular recommendations made in the report.

The College training programs are guided by standards and protocols which aim to certify specialist surgeons with highly developed surgical competencies.
