MOPS (Non Fellows)Introduction IntroductionThe Maintenance of Professional Standards (MOPS) Program is offered by the College to enable doctors not trained by the College to demonstrate their maintenance of appropriate professional standards of knowledge and performance. The MOPS Program is completed over a 12-month consecutive period. Doctors who are not Fellows of the College but who have postgraduate surgical qualifications at a recognised institution can register to participate in the program. Similarly, doctors who are specialist or vocationally registered in Australia and/or New Zealandrespectively are also welcome to register to participate in the program.
MOPS Program requirementsThe MOPS Program has been developed in consultation with Specialty Societies, Associations and Regional Committees to ensure that it meets the needs of participants and reflects current educational principles. The MOPS Information Manual (PDF 1Mb) outlines requirements for the program according to practice types and provides information within each category on activities that fellows can undertake to assist with meeting the requirements.
Statement of ParticipationFellows who meet the requirements of the program are eligible to receive the Statement of Participation. The statement may be supplied to medical registration boards, hospitals or other organisations as evidence of your participation in a professional development program.
