2011 Travel scholarships, fellowships and grants

Applications for the 2011 scholarship and fellowship program are now closed, except for the Ramsay Fellowship – Provincial Surgeons (receiving applications until 30 September 2010)

Important general information (travel)

  • Travel scholarships, fellowships and grants are intended to support applicants who wish to take time away from clinical positions to travel elsewhere in Australia and New Zealand or overseas.

  • The object of travel is to gain knowledge or expertise in a field which will ultimately benefit the Fellow/Trainee, the College and the community.

  • Unless stated otherwise, travel scholarships, fellowships and grants are conditional upon the applicant being a permanent resident of Australia or New Zealand, or an international medical graduate accepted into the College as a Trainee.

  • The availability of the scholarships, fellowships and grants advertised on the following pages will be subject to funding availability.

  • Where applicable, applicants must notify their training board of their intention to interrupt their trainingand must adhere to the Training Board's regulations.

  • Unless stated otherwise, applicants must not have commenced their travels prior to the closing date for applications.

  • Confidential reports from those identified in Section G of the application must reach the College by the closing date for applications. It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure this occurs.

  • Please read the scholarship/fellowship/grant conditions carefully prior to making an application. Conditions are correct at the time of publishing; however they may be updated prior to scholarships/fellowships being offered.

  • Applicants must submit an electronic and a hard copy application in either Microsoft Word or Adobe PDF format. Applications must be completed on the prescribed form where applicable, accompanied by a brief curriculum vitae. Do not submit the hard copy application form or CV bound in any way or on coloured paper. Applications must be received by the College no later than 4pm Friday 30 April 2010.

Late applications will not be considered

  • It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure the application is received by the Scholarship Coordinator. Please contact the Scholarship Coordinator (contact details below) if you do not receive confirmation.
