Australian Day Surgery Council
The Australian Day Surgery Council is a multi-disciplinary body
promoting and advising on all aspects of day surgery in Australia.
Vision
The Australian Day Surgery Council provides leadership and
guidance in day surgery practice both nationally and
internationally.
Values
The Australian Day Surgery Council is a national body which has
perceived values:
- Of promotion of the highest quality day surgery practice through
professional and optimal patient care
- Of provision of multi-disciplinary education to a variety of
stakeholders
- Of respect for professionals and their individual differences
Principle
The Council has not given exclusive support for facilities within
existing hospitals or freestanding facilities but insists that the same
standards apply to all

International Association on Ambulatory Surgery (IAAS)
The Australian Day Surgery Council is host to the 2009 IAAS
Congress in Brisbane from 3 - 6 July 2009. Health
professionals including surgeons, anaesthetists, nurses and managers
working in day surgery settings are encouraged to attend this Congress
to learn, be inspired and exchange information and knowledge on "The
Destiny of Day Surgery". Registrations are now open.
