Resources Committee
The Resources Committee was established to advise Council
on all matters that affect the financial management of the Royal
Australasian College of Surgeons. Its primary role is to assist Council
in fulfilling its responsibilities for maintaining sound managerial and
financial control over all activities within the College, through the
development, coordination and monitoring of policies for the effective
management of all College resources.

The committee’s duties and responsibilities include:
- to oversee all activities to ensure adequate coordination and
integration with current College policies
- to develop strategies to ensure the delivery of services to all
areas of the College
- to recommend and advise on budget policy and priorities
- to initiate, establish priorities, implement and review policies
relating to the resources of the College
- to identify and develop policies relating to risk management
- to be accountable to Council for reporting on any matters directed
to it by Council
- to provide an additional review function over the annual and monthly
financial statements
- to identify and direct any special projects or investigations deemed
necessary
- to monitor the standard of corporate conduct in areas such as
arm’s length dealings and any likely conflicts of interest
