Timor Leste Eye Program

Timor Leste is rebuilding its medical system and the Timor Leste Eye Program (ETEP) is playing an active role in this task by performing eye operations and training local doctors and nurses. The goal of the ETEP is to make Timor Leste self-sufficient in the provision of eye care by 2010. Sumba Eye Program

The Sumba Eye Program, established in 2007, is a program targeted at delivering eye-care services to the people of Sumba Island. Teams of volunteer optometrists, ophthalmologists and nurses give their time and skills to improve eye care in Sumba. They perform over 650 consultations and operations with 80 to 100 patients receiving sight restoring surgery during the week visits. Equipment, instruments and medical supplies

The International Development Program also welcomes in-kind donations of equipment, instruments and medical supplies to support the delivery of surgical services and training. Tungaru Central Hospital, Kiribati Needs Your Help

A recent request from Tungaru Central Hospital, Kiribati has been received by the College's Pacific Islands Program (PIP) Management office, Melbourne.

The hospital requires in kind donations of the following equipment (in good working order and with operating manual and service record):

1. C-Arm;

2. Orthopaedic battery operated drill; and

3. A small fragment set.
