Non-Technical Skills for Surgeons
The Non-Technical Skills for Surgeons (NOTSS) workshop focuses on the non- technical skills which underpin safer operative surgery. It explores a behaviour rating system developed by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh which can help you develop the knowledge and skills to improve your performance in the operating theatre in relation to situational awareness, communication, decision making and leadership/teamwork.
Each of these categories is broken down into elements or behavioural markers that can be used to identify a superior or substandard performance.
