FSSE is an introductory course to expand knowledge and skills in surgical teaching and education.

Difficult Conversations with Underperforming Trainees

Difficult Conversations with Underperforming Trainees provides supervisors with a comprehensive framework to follow including how to prepare for and conduct the conversation and the steps to take after the conversation.

The course is interactive and includes group activities and role plays.

Surgeons as Leaders in Everyday Practice

Surgeons as Leaders in Everyday Practice, is a one and a half day program which looks at the development of both the individual's and their clinical teams' leadership capabilities.

Promoting Advanced Surgical Education (PrASE)

PrASe empowers surgical educators to deliver excellence in training and education by exploring learner-centred surgical education, trust and feedback, trainees at risk, assessment and supervision, and leadership in surgical education.

PrASE is a two-day, interactive course that helps surgical educators build on knowledge and skills learned in the Foundation Skills for Surgical Educators (FSSE) course.

The Academy of Surgical Educators hosts the Academy Forum, an evening to acknowledge and celebrate the surgical educators and the leaders among us.

Academy Educator Studio Sessions

The Academy of Surgical Educators hosts a number of Educator Studio Sessions around Australia and New Zealand each year. Each session is a one hour informative event, curated to help to provide a deeper understanding of the issues, themes and topics that matter.

Graduate Program in Surgical Education

Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma and Masters level programs in surgical education are now offered in partnership with the Department of Surgery and Medical Education Unit, the University of Melbourne and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
