Eligibility

To apply to sit the Fellowship Examination a candidate must:

• be an accredited RACS Trainee, or an IMG with an assessment requiring completion of the examination, and
• have satisfied the specialty specific requirements of training/assessment approved by the relevant specialty board.

Once a candidate has registered, eligibility is confirmed by the relevant specialty board. This occurs on each occasion a candidate applies for the examination. The approval process takes approximately three weeks following the close of registrations.

Trainees and IMGs should refer to relevant specialty training regulations for eligibility requirements.

Each specialty has a list of requirements that must be met to to be eligible to apply for the Fellowship Exam. Even if you have met all these requirements, are you ready?

The Court of Examiners would encourage all candidates to consult with their supervisors and/or mentors to honestly discuss preparedness to present. The Fellowship Examination is a significant undertaking, both academically, practically and financially so attempting this exam as a practice or if underprepared is not advised.
