Withdrawing from an exam
How to withdraw from an examination
Candidates who wish to withdraw from an examination must do so via the online withdrawals form.
All candidates will receive a confirmation email upon receipt of online withdrawal. Candidates must ensure that they receive this confirmation to ensure the withdrawal has been successfully processed. If it is not received within 24 hours please email examinations@surgeons.org.
A member of the Examinations Department will then be in contact within three working days to confirm the refund entitlement.
Conditions of withdrawal
Withdrawal refund entitlements
Candidates are advised to see the relevant examination policy for full details of withdrawal refund entitlements. The refund amount will be dependent upon the timing of the withdrawal.
Candidates who do not formally notify the Examinations Department of their withdrawal via the online form will forfeit the entire examination fee.
A candidate will not be refunded any part of the examination fee if they are prevented from participating in the examination as a result of taking prohibited equipment or materials into an examination room or cheating.
Can I transfer my registration to another exam?
The online registration system does not permit the transfer of candidates from one exam to another.
If candidates wish to sit the exam at a later date they must withdraw from the exam they are currently registered for and then re-apply (during the appropriate opening and closing dates) online for a later exam.
