What is the difference between gaining RACS CME approval and RACS accreditation?
Continuing Medical Education (CME) approved courses and events allows RACS members to use CPD points gained by participating in these activities as part of their annual mandatory CPD requirements. Providers apply to have their activities approved free of charge.
A course that has been accredited by RACS undergoes a rigorous peer review process by RACS Fellows. Accreditation by RACS reflects a provider's commitment to delivering the highest standards of education to RACS Fellows, Trainees, International Medical Graduates (IMGs) and pre-vocational doctors in accordance with our best practice educational standards and criteria. Fees apply for providers wishing to undergo the accreditation process. CPD points are not approved in this process.
