International Medical Graduates (IMGs) on a pathway to Fellowship are required to submit assessments for Direct Observation of Procedural Skills ( DOPS), Mini Clinical Examinations (Mini-CEX) and Multi-source Feedback (MSF). These tools, which can include a self-evaluation component, are used to help the teaching, management and assessment of clinical skills.
The College has developed online versions of these tools. From 1 May 2015 these online tools are available for the following specialties in the Australian IMG assessment process:
|Initiated by IMG and then reviewed by one of their two assessors.||Initiated by IMG and then reviewed by one of their two assessors.||360 degree feedback from others, including non-Fellows and all assessments reviewed by one of their two assessors.|
|Plastic & Recon.||Yes||Yes||Yes|
IMGs who use specialty specific forms should continue to use paper-based forms until specialty-specific online assessment forms have been developed. The forms can be found in the link below.
You need to login with your College website username and password to initiate and manage your assessments.
Initiating a new assessment
Use the following links to initiate an online assessment:
To ensure your nominated raters receive their invitation to assess you via the MSF tool, we encourage you to send a direct email informing your nominated raters that they should receive an automated message from RACS titled "Request for Multisource Feedback Assessment". Some email systems can deliver the RACS email to spam instead of the rater's inbox, causing a delay in the assessment process. If your rater hasn't received their request, ask them to check their junk/ spam folder and add RACS to their trusted senders list. Try an alternative email address, or contact the RACS HelpDesk.
If you have initiated an eMSF, Mini-CEX or DOPS online assessment, you can access your tasks from the email you have been sent or through your 'To do list' in your RACS Portfolio accessible once you have logged into the RACS website.

Access and compatible technologies
All users of the tools must have a College website login and have setup their security profile. An email address will be the username. If you have not set up your security profile, you will need to login to the College website with your old username and password (most likely a RACS ID). If you don't remember your original username and password, you can contact the RACS HelpDesk.
If you have forgotten your password, you can use the Forgot your Password link on the College website. If you have forgotten your username, you can retrieve it through the Forgot your Username link on the College website.
