Resumption of elective surgery
We are pleased with the Australian Government National Cabinet’s decision to resume elective surgery. The timing may depend on state policy and directives. This follows the resumption of elective surgery in New Zealand last week.
 
Congratulations to our Fellows for following the restrictions asked of us and our thanks and gratitude to the specialty societies, our New Zealand Board and Australian state and territory committees for their guidance during this period.

Update on RACS training and exams

We provided anupdate on training and examsin our last communication to you on Tuesday 12 May.

Pending confirmation of suitable venues, the proposed dates of the written component of the Fellowship exam is mid-September, with vivas in New Zealand and Australia to be held in mid-October. We will announce dates as soon as they are available.      

Surgical Education Training selection is due to reopen imminently.
