Australian government’s COVIDSafe app

The Australian government designed the COVIDSafe app to keep all Australians safe by being able to quickly contact people who may have unknowingly been in close contact with someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19.

The Council of Presidents of Medical Colleges supported the use of COVIDSafe and considering it has merit in enabling swift contact tracing, it was also discussed at a recent RACS Extraordinary Council meeting.

Once identified, people who may have been exposed to the virus can be given advice about the steps to take for their own health and to protect their family, friends and community from possible infection.
