John Mitchell Crouch Fellowship (value: $150,000)

Open to RACS Fellows residing in Australia or New Zealand who have obtained their Fellowship within the past 15 years, and are making an outstanding contribution to the advanced of surgery or to fundamental scientific research in the field in which they are now actively working. The Fellowship must be used to assist continuation of this work. This is RACS most prestigious award.


Pickard Robotic Training Scholarship (total value: $100,000)

Open to Fellows, Trainees and clinicians working, researching or training in robotic surgery, who live or have contractual commitment in South Australia.

A total of $100,000 in varying amounts will be awarded to three to five applicants.

John Buckingham Travelling Scholarship (value: $4,000)

Open to current Australian and New Zealand Trainees in order to attend the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Annual Clinical Congress. In 2020 this Congress is being held on 4-8 October 2020 in Chicago, Il, USA.

Anwar & Myrtha Girgis IMG Scholarship (value: $10,000)

Open to doctors who are able to demonstrate financial hardship or disadvantage and who are of refugee or asylum seeker background or are recent migrants.

They need to have been assessed by RACS as partially comparable to being Australian trained and have been approved:

  • to commence, have commenced or have completed clinical assessment or
  • have been assessed by the Medical Council of New Zealand as eligible for vocational registration in surgery or
  • require assistance to meet the language criteria for their vocational registration application to proceed and they must be eligible to work in Australia or New Zealand.
