Assoc Prof Mark Magnusson

Overview

Dr Magnuson works in Toowoomba and on the Gold Coast in Queensland. He has been a Specialist Plastic Surgeon since 2001. His practice is primarily aesthetic, breast reconstruction and body contouring (including following massive weight loss).

He has been a member of the Board of the Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery since 2010. Much of this time was as the Chairman of Education (2012 till 2016) and then as the President from 2016-2018).

Dr Magnuson is actively involved in research and education into breast implant surgery, breast implant associated-anaplastic large cell lymphoma, facial ageing and facial rejuvenation. He is an anatomy tutor on the Melbourne Advanced Facial Anatomy Course (MAFAC) and also on Anatomy and Live Injecting Workshop focused on nonsurgical facial rejuvenation and safety.

Dr Magnuson is on the Editorial Board of the Aesthetic Surgery Journal and Aesthetic Section Editor for the Australasian Journal of Plastic Surgery.

Despite these commitments Dr Magnusson has a busy private practice primarily in tune with his research interests in all aspects of breast surgery (anaesthetic, revisionary, reconstructive), body contour including following massive weight loss and facial rejuvenation.
