This scholarship is governed under the auspices of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons' Professional Development and Standards Board (PDSB) through the Academy of Surgical Educators (ASE). The ASE Surgical Education Research Scholarship Selection Committee (Selection Committee) has been convened to oversight the implementation of the scholarship.

Who can apply?

Applications of the Scholarship are open to RACS Fellows, Surgical Trainees and International Medical Graduates (IMGs). The applicant must be a permanent resident or citizen of Australia or New Zealand.

SET applicants are eligible to apply for a scholarship in anticipation of their acceptance into the SET Program. Evidence of acceptance into the program must be received by the ANZ Scholarship and Grant Coordinator by November in the year before the award commences in order to be eligible.

The scholarship will be awarded based on the applicant's expected contribution to the body of knowledge in surgical education in Australia and New Zealand.
