The funding for the Lumley surgical research scholarship incorporates the Edward Lumley Fellowship Fund and is supported by the Henry Lumley Charitable Trust. It is designed to enable a RACS Trainee or Fellow to spend a year undertaking research in the United Kingdom.

The Lumley Surgical Research Scholarship was established following an offer by Mr Edward Lumley of funds for support of research in surgery in 1955 and the first awards were made in 1962.

Who can apply?

RACS Fellows and SET Trainees.

Please note that this scholarship is not available for SET applicants.

 

Conditions

Applicants must be intending to spend a year undertaking research in the United Kingdom. The applicant must be a permanent resident or citizen of Australia or New Zealand, or an International Medical Graduate (IMG) accepted into RACS as a Trainee.
