The late Professor Richard P Jepson was the foundation Chair for Surgery at the University of Adelaide.

This scholarship has been established in his honour due to a generous donation from his wife, Dr Mary Jepson, in order to assist needy and deserving younger researchers. Professor Jepson was a strong believer that youth needs support and opportunity.

Who can apply?

RACS surgical Trainees.

SET applicants are eligible to apply for a scholarship in anticipation of their acceptance into the SET Program. Evidence of acceptance into the program must be received by the ANZ Scholarship and Grant Coordinator by November in the year before the award commences in order to be eligible.

Conditions

Applicants must be enrolled in or intending to enrol in a higher degree.

Value

$66,000 per annum ($60,000 stipend plus $6,000 departmental maintenance); research departments will be expected to provide 25 per cent of the funding ($16,500) per annum.

Tenure

Up to three years. Continuation each year is dependent upon satisfactory progress.
