Overview

The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) is the principal body for the training and education of surgeons in Australia and New Zealand. Accreditation is given by the Australian Medical Council (AMC) and the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) to train surgeons and maintain surgical standards.

The Specialist International Medical Graduate Committee (SIMGC) has oversight of specialist international medical graduate assessment processes, reporting to the Board of Surgical Education and Training.
