The Find a Surgeon directory is a listing of active Fellows of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons who meet the requirements of the College's Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Program and have opted to be on the list. This list excludes retired or inactive Fellows.

 

There are 11 specialty boards:

 

Functions of a specialty board

The specialty boards advise Council through the Censor-in-Chief on the following:

  • curriculum, content and duration of training
  • accreditation and content of Surgical Education and Training programs (SET) including integration between programs with overseas posts and the inspection of posts
  • selection of Trainees
  • eligibility of Trainees to present for the Fellowship Examination
  • assessment of satisfactory completion of training
  • provision of information to maintain a register of Trainees
  • maintenance of surgical standards in each specialties' SET training program.
