Younger Fellows Forum
The Forum is a professional retreat of RACS Younger Fellows (a Younger Fellow is a surgeon who has obtained their fellowship within the last 10 years). In addition there are three international Younger Fellows; one each from the College of Surgeons of Hong Kong and Thailand, as well as a representative from the US Association of Academic Surgery (AAS).
Participants will represent a mix of surgeons in terms of specialty interest, gender, type of practice and age. It offers a unique opportunity for a group of Fellows to share ideas and experiences and debate issues that affect their professional and personal lives.
The YFF is held annually prior to the RACS Annual Scientific Congress (ASC). It is intended to acknowledge and encourage the contribution of Younger Fellows to RACS. It also serves to provide an avenue for Younger Fellows to have a voice in and engage with RACS.
The YFF program provides an opportunity for extensive discussion on "hot College topics" and time to relax, get to know other Younger Fellows and participate in team building activities to challenge the body and mind. Above all, the YFF empowers participants to influence the way RACS serves its Fellowship and the community, either as individuals or collectively.
