Mr Blair Bowden

Overview

Dr Blair Bowden did his surgical training based at RBWH. He  developed an interest in Upper Gastroenterology surgery ,surgery for weight loss and Cancer Surgery. At that stage RBWH was a world leading insitution in laparoscopic surgery. He was awarded a fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery at the New York University.Training under Dr Christine Ren and Dr George Fielding  two leading surgeons in USA for weight loss surgery.He then completed fellowships in the UK , and Paris for cancer surgery.  He is based at the Wesley Hospital in Auchenflower since retiring from RBWH after 25 years.As Co-director of Weight Loss surgery at the Wesley Hospital he was instrumental  in the program being awarded a Centre of Excellence standing by SRC in 2019.
