Mr Lih-Ming Wong

Overview

Ming is a general urologist with subspecialty interest in urological cancers. He completed his Urology training in Melbourne 2009, and then spent 3 years overseas gaining further experience. At Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge UK, Ming underwent training in robotic radical prostatectomy, radical cystectomy and retroperitoneal lymph node dissection. Then, a 2 year Society of Urological Oncology Fellowship at Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto was completed with good experience in partial nephrectomy, testis cancer and complex uro-oncological cases. Ming is also comfortable managing urinary tract stone disease, and lower urinary tract symptoms.

Academically, Ming has published in reputable peer review journals such as European Urology and The Journal of Urology, and presented at international meetings. He is involved in research and teaching through his appointment at Department of Surgery, University of Melbourne. He supervises post graduate students and currently is principal investigator for several prospective trials examining an expanding role for PSMA-PET/CT in prostate cancer.

Ming is an experienced robotic surgeon and assisted with implementation of the public in private robotic surgery program at St Vincent's Hospital, Melbourne.

Currently, Ming has public appointments at St Vincent's, Austin Health,and Goulburn Valley Base Hospital. His principal private consulting rooms are in East Melbourne and he also visits Lilydale, Bulleen and Shepparton regularly.
