A year of steady progress for Fellows, Trainees, and the communities we serve.
Building on the results of the previous two years, RACS has again achieved a modest operating surplus in 2025. This reflects the effectiveness of the financial management framework introduced in recent years to strengthen the College's balance sheet and ensure its long-term stability.
More than a financial snapshot though, the report outlines key outcomes across the whole College, including:
- education and advocacy
- welcoming 236 new Fellows, improving training pathways
- expanding rural and global programs
- more than $1.3 million in scholarships awarded
- strong member engagement
- fee freezes for both Fellows and Trainees.
This result supports our members directly. Stable finances have enabled the College to maintain fee freezes while continuing to fund training, scholarships, and programs.
Growth in the number of Fellows and continued engagement indicate a strong and active membership base. .
In her CEO message, Stephanie Clota explains how the report reflects our focus on what matters most to our members.
“We remain focused on our core business: our role as the standards authority for surgery, the delivery of high‑quality surgical education and training, leadership in advocacy, and the advancement of research, alongside our ongoing commitment to global health.”
Immediate past-president Professor Owen Ung uses his message to encourage members to read the report in full.
“There is much here that should give us confidence—not just in what we have achieved, but in what we are building together.”
In 2025, we achieved significant milestones and were reminded that we are stronger together.
