Prof Michael Vallely

Overview

Michael Vallely is a Professor in The Department of Surgery, Division of Cardiac Surgery at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus Ohio, USA. He is an Australian trained academic cardiothoracic surgeon with interests in elderly, complex and high-risk patients, including the application of off-pump, minimal access and transcatheter techniques. Other interests include value based healthcare, integrated healthcare, medical technology investing and transcatheter medical technology, including the development of novel prostheses.

Professor Vallely has over 130 publications in peer-reviewed journals and three published book chapters. He has developed and participated in several first in man procedures and first in man trials and is the senior author on publications that have contributed to changes in international treatment guidelines. He sits on several international industry advisory boards, is a Director at Cordis Asset Management Pty Ltd and is a Senior Advisor with The Boston Consulting Group.
