Mr Paul Burton
Overview
Paul Burton is a specialist Upper GI surgeon who completed training in Australia and then Addenbrooke's hospital in England. His subspecialty interests are in: Oesophageal and Gastric cancer surgery, Bariatric surgery (including adjutable gastric banding, sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass and malabsorptive procedures), Hiatal hernia and Reflux surgery and Oesophageal dysmotility such as achalasia. Paul is actively involved in research as a Senior Research Fellow based at The Alfred Hospital.His research continues themes he developed after completing his PhD. Research interests include outcomes of oesophago-gastric cancer treatment, inflammatory cascade in oesophageal cancer and the physiology of Upper GI operations.
