Professor Craig McBride
Overview
Professor Craig A McBride PhD FRACS FACS has worked as a paediatric surgeon in Brisbane since 2008; following training in three of the four Paediatric Surgical Units in Aotearoa/New Zealand, and the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne - where he was the Chief Surgical Registrar in 2007, the year he attained Fellowship. He completed his PhD in paediatric burns in 2021.
He is a senior staff specialist on the Surgical Team: Infants, Toddlers and Children at Children's Health Queensland in what is now the largest children's hospital in Australia or New Zealand. He has a private practice, in addition to his public work at Queensland Children's Hospital.
His time is divided between clinical paediatric surgery, teaching, and research. He has a Professorial appointment at the University of Queensland, with academic appointments also at Griffith University, Bond University, and Queen Mary University of London.
