General Surgery training in Christchurch, New Zealand. Colorectal Surgical training in USA as Health Futures Foundation Fellow at Creighton University, Omaha, Nebraska then as National Institutesif Health Fogarty Fellow at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota.

Expertise in colorectal and general abdominal and pelvic surgery. Special interests include advanced laparoscopic colorectal surgery, colorectal cancer,  pelvic floor and anorectal disorders, and endometriosis.

Other interests include governance, medical information technology, audit and surgical standards.
