Prof Sean Galvin

Overview

I am a consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon practising in Wellington, New Zealand. I am a graduate of The University of Otago, my Cardiothoracic surgical training was initally undertaken in New Zealand and then completed in Melbourne Australia.  My post-fellowship training focused on surgery of the thoracic aorta,  the use of arterial conduits in coronary surgery and both general and minimally invasive thoracic surgical techniques. I am actively involved in clinical research and teaching with honorary appointments at a number of academic institutes,  I also currently hold  editorial positions with 2 international cardiothoracic surgical journals and i regulary review for 12 internatioanl peer reviewed pub-med indexed journals.  I am actively involved in surgical education and I am the Cardiothoracic Surgical Supervisor of Training at Wellington Hospital.
