Mission statement
The mission of the Australian Safety and Efficacy Register of
New Interventional Procedures - Surgical (ASERNIP-S) is to
provide quality and timely assessments of new and emerging surgical
technologies and techniques. Services provided include:
- full and rapid systematic reviews, and technology overviews of
the peer-reviewed literature
- the establishment and facilitation of clinical and research
audits or studies
- the assessment of new and emerging techniques and technologies
by horizon scanning
- input into the production of clinical practice guidelines.
Our ultimate aim is to improve the quality of healthcare through
the wide dissemination of our evidence-based research to surgeons,
healthcare providers and consumers, both nationally and
internationally.
The information provided on the ASERNIP-S website is designed to
support, not replace, the relationship that exists between a
patient/site visitor and his/her physician.
