Overview
The Clinical Examination (CE) is a practical exam that assesses clinical application of basic sciences, as well as technical and non-technical competencies. It’s an Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) consisting of 16 five-minute stations designed to test your applied knowledge of the clinical conditions and scenarios you may encounter as a junior doctor working in a hospital.
Four station types assess physical examination, communication skills, history taking and procedural skills.
Please note that registration for this exam closes at 11.59am (AEST) on the closing date stipulated, late registrations will not be accepted under any circumstances.
Due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions and the impact these have had on the delivery of the Clinical Exam, the delivery format of the exam may be subject to change from a centralised model to a devolved and / or a virtual delivery model at short notice.
As per the clinical examination policy candidates will be allocated a session according to nominated preferences. Preferences cannot be guaranteed if minimum capacity is not achieved or preferences exceed the maximum capacity requirements.
Candidates should not arrange travel until confirmation of the exam delivery format and allocated session. Allocations cannot be altered.
Please note that there are limited spots available per sitting for logistical reasons. It is recommended to register earlier rather than later to avoid disappointment.
