These awards and grants are open to junior doctors and final-year medical students who identify as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, or Māori.
Recipients of the respective awards will attend the 2024 RACS ASC in Christchurch Aotearoa New Zealand or receive further support with their surgical career pathways through the Career Enhancement Grants.
Last year’s recipients of the ASC Awards attended the congress in Adelaide, Australia and forged connections integral to their surgical career aspirations.
The Indigenous scholarships form an integral part of RACS commitment to Indigenous health. They are part of a suite of initiatives that continue to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, and Maori, prevocational doctors who want to pursue a career in surgery in the future.
