On 10 February RACS’ Environmental Sustainability in Surgical Practice Working Party (ESSPWP) hosted the inaugural Environmental Sustainability in Surgical Practice Webinar.

 

The webinar was hosted by RAC President Dr Sally Langley, and featured the following speakers:

 

Dr Ben Dunne: Thoracic Surgeon and member of the ESSPWP. Dr Dunne is committed to environmentalism and sharing his knowledge with hospitals, surgeons and other medical professionals on how they can be more sustainable in their practices.

 

Professor Lynne Madden: Professor Population and Planetary Health UNDA. Lyn is also the Chair of the RACP Climate Change and Health Research Project Advisory Committee, which recently released this comprehensive report on Climate Change and Australia’s Healthcare Systems.

 

Dr Rennie Qin: Paul Farmer Global Surgery Research Fellow at the Program in Global Surgery and Social Change at Harvard Medical School. Rennie previously completed her Medical degree and Honors thesis in epidemiology at the University of Auckland.
