It's the first issue ofCutting Edge for 2024 (PDF 3.16MB). In it, we take a look at the life and achievements of some of the surgeons who commit their time to our College and to the surgical profession they love, including trauma care pioneer and former RACS president Professor Ian Civil (pg.3) and deputy chair of the Aotearoa New Zealand (AoNZ) Court of Examiners Dr Cathy Ferguson (pg.7).
Also in this issue we introduce the new AoNZ RACSTA representative Dr Blair Mason (pg.8) who hopes to advocate for wellbeing and improved training opportunities; we congratulate Dr Rachelle Love on her appointment as Chair of the Medical Council of New Zealand (pg.9) and we look at what our members most value about the College (pg.6).
Don't forget, the RACS Scholarships and Grants Program offers thousands of dollars in research scholarships, and learning and development grants each year (pg.15). Applications for 2025 open 25 March 2024.
