The Early Management of Severe Trauma (EMST) program will be running courses in Adelaide in June and July and eligible candidates are able to enrol online today.

EMST is a 2.5 day, highly interactive course that teaches the management of trauma victims in the first hour or two following injury - emphasising a systematic clinical approach. It has been tailored from the Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS®) course of the American College of Surgeons and recognised as the international equivalent. The course is designed for all doctors who are involved in the early treatment of serious injuries in urban or rural areas, whether or not sophisticated emergency facilities are available. This course is a requirement of all surgical training programs in Australia and New Zealand.
Entry criteria: One year after date of first medical registration at the time of enrolment
