The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) sends its sympathy and support to the people affected by the eruption of Whakaari/White Island in New Zealand.
President of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons Tony Sparnon offered sympathy and concern to all people affected by the eruption of Whakaari/White Island in New Zealand.
"Our gratitude and respect go to everyone involved, including all involved in the rescues from Whakaari, first responders, RACS Fellows, surgical teams and health workers who are caring for the injured in several hospitals around New Zealand. Our thoughts are especially with those who are severely injured, many of whom are facing a long recovery, and also with the families/whanau who will support them, and with those who have lost loved ones."
