We recently held a webinar on personal protective equipment with Australian Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Dr Nick Coatsworth and RACS President, Tony Sparnon on Tuesday 22 April.

Professor Guy Maddern, RACS Surgical Director of Research and Evaluation incorporating ASERNIP-S, and Dr Bridget Clancy, Ear Nose and Throat Surgeon and Chair of RACS Rural Surgery Section Committee will be participating in the Q&A session.

About Dr Nick Coatsworth

Dr Nick Coatsworth brings together two of the most important factors in the fight against coronavirus — he is a respiratory specialist and infectious diseases specialist.

He has extensive experience in health emergencies and epidemics around the word, including training AusMAT clinicians during the ebola virus disease outbreak.

Nick’s contribution to the Department of Health’s response to coronavirus will provide frontline experience and a voice for clinicians at the highest level. This will help ensure the measures we are taking to protect the Australian community focus on people’s individual needs.
