Dr Seyed 'Ali' Alavi
Overview
Dr Ali Alavi is a highly trained and experienced cranial and spinal Neurosurgeon, holding fellowship from Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS) and Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS).
He has subspecialty interest and expertise in endoscopic and minimally-invasive skull base surgery, including pituitary, craniopharyngioma, chordoma, meningioma, epidermoid cysts and vestibular schwannoma (acoustic neuroma), as well as a range of other malignant and benign brain tumours.
He is acclaimed for his research, having been awarded the “Pituitary Prize” by The Society of British Neurological Surgeons. Dr Alavi performs minimally invasive spinal surgery for disc prolapse, spinal stenosis and spondylolisthesis and experienced with neurosurgical procedures for pain management and spinal cord stimulation.
Dr Alavi is the chairman of neurosurgery and spine surgery group at Brisbane Private Hospital and the member of Medical Advisory Committee (MAC) at Brisbane Private Hospital.
