Dr Anthony Silva

Overview

Dr Silva completed his medical degree at the University of Queensland in 2012. He undertook his junior doctor years training in hospitals across Queensland and South Australia and completed his orthopaedic training in Queensland in 2023.

He has completed orthopaedic fellowships in Australia and Canada (2023 and 2024), where his training focused on Direct Anterior Approach (DAA) Robotic Total Hip Replacement, Personalised Alignment Robotic Total and Partial Knee Replacements, Complex Primary and Revision Arthroplasty, and surgery of the hip and knee.

Dr Silva is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) and the Australian Orthopaedic Association (AOA).

Alongside his private practice, Dr Silva holds a public appointment as the Director of Orthopaedic Surgery at The Prince Charles Hospital in Brisbane, which is a referral centre for arthroplasty and arthroplasty-related trauma.

He is actively involved in orthopaedic research and leads research initiatives for the orthopaedic department at The Prince Charles Hospital.

Dr Silva is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland and enjoys contributing to the teaching and supervision of medical students and junior doctors training in the hospital environment.
