Assoc Prof Jonathan Hong

Overview

Associate Professor Jonathan Hong is a specialist colorectal and general surgeon who has received sub-specialist training at RPA Hospital in Sydney and Mt Sinai in Toronto, Canada. During this time he developed an expertise in inflammatory bowel disease and laparoscopic colorectal surgery, colon and rectal cancer and colonoscopy. His other interests include complex endometriosis, perianal conditions, diverticular disease, abdominal hernias and abdominal wall reconstruction, and the management of pelvic floor conditions, such as faecal incontinence. 

Jonathan is an enthusiatic trainer and educator, he is an Associate Professor with the Univeristy of Sydney and co-ordinates the medical student surgical education at the Central Clinical School. Jonathan is also the supervisor of general surgical training at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. In 2018 he was awarded the Consultant teacher of the year by the RPA Resident Medical Officers Association.
