Assoc Prof Terence Chua

Overview

Professor Terence Chua, BScMed (Hons) MBBS PhD MRCS (Ed) FRACS; is a Specialist Surgeon and Clinical Academic Surgeon. He studied medicine and surgery at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) graduating with a double degree in Bachelor of Science in Medicine with 1st Class Honours and Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery. HE was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) by the University of New South Wales (UNSW) for his research into colorectal cancer surgery with his academic excellence being recognised by honour on the Dean's List. He has over 200 peer-reviewed publications in high impact factor surgical journals with special expertise in general and colorectal surgery.

 

Professor Chua trained in surgery in Sydney and developed a unique skill set of technical capabilities from being closely mentored by pre-eminent surgeons in the field of cancer surgery, colorectal surgery, hepatobiliary surgery and thyroid surgery. He attained specialist qualification with Fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) and also holds Membership from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh, United Kingdom (MRCS Ed).

 

Professor Terence Chua has a broad interest in all aspects of general and colorectal surgery and is a GESA-accredited colonoscopy. He provides patients with an individualised patient-centred care to achieve the best treatment outcomes.
