Dr Cheng He
Overview
Dr Cheng He is a consultant cardiothoracic surgeon at Gold Coast University Hospital, Gold Coast Private Hospital and the John Flynn Private Hospital.
Dr He grew up in Melbourne and is an alumnus of Scotch College and the University of Melbourne Medical School.
Dr He undertook surgical residency at St Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne, and completed cardiothoracic surgical training across a number of hospitals in Victoria, Tasmania and Queensland. After being awarded Fellowship in Cardiothoracic Surgery (FRACS) from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, Dr He further completed post fellowship training at St Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne.
Dr He’s surgical practice involves all aspects of cardiac and thoracic surgery with a particular focus on Total arterial coronary bypass, AF ablation, Left atrial appendage management and Minimally-invasive lung surgery.
Dr He has published papers in national and international peer-reviewed journals and authored book chapters on cardiac and thoracic surgical techniques. He is actively involved in medical teaching and is a senior lecturer at Griffith University Medical School and a surgical skills course instructor for the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
