Overview

Dr. Chris Nahm is a Hepatobiliary, Pancreatic, Transplant and General Surgeon with subspecialty expertise in surgery of:

  • Liver and bile ducts
  • Gallbladder
  • Pancreas
  • Abdominal wall hernias
  • Spleen
  • Adrenal glands

He is Program Co-Director of the Masters of Surgery Program and Senior Lecturer in Surgery at the University of Sydney.

He graduated medical school with honours from the University of New South Wales and obtained Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, completing much of his training in pancreatic surgery through Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney. As the inaugural Harris Van Beek Pancreatic Cancer Research Scholar, he completed a PhD in pancreatic cancer research at The University of Sydney. Ranking first in the nationwide AANZHPBA Fellowship match, he undertook a clinical fellowship in hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery at Westmead Hospital. He then moved to the United Kingdom to undertake a senior clinical fellowship in complex hepatobiliary and transplant surgery at St. James's University Hospital in Leeds. Through his local and international experience, he was awarded dual fellowship accreditation in Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery (AANZHPBA) and Transplantation Surgery (General Surgeons Australia PFET).
