Dr Clare Bouffler
Overview
Dr Clare Bouffler underwent training in General Surgery in western Sydney and obtained her FRACS in 2017. Dr Bouffler completed a Trauma Fellowship at Westmead Hospital and then undertook five years of post-fellowship training in Upper GI surgery. She completed these years at Nepean Hospital, St George Hospital (Australia’s highest volume centre for bariatric surgery) and Bankstown Hospital in Sydney. She further trained internationally at The Royal Infirmary in Edinburgh, Scotland and interstate at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane – both world-leading centres of excellence in Upper GI surgery. During this training, Dr Bouffler was accepted onto and completed the prestigious AANZGOSA post-fellowship training program. She is passionate about the education of future surgeons and is actively involved in teaching medical students, registrars and fellows and teaches with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
